Between the Pages in Bryant Park

A green oasis in the heart of New York, Bryant Park is a must-visit no matter the season. With its iconic green tables and chairs scattered throughout, the park offers endless seating, making it a perfect retreat for both locals and visitors looking to pause and take in the city.

We visited during a quieter time, nestled between the city’s peak tourist seasons. The Winter Village, a beloved seasonal staple, had just left, but the first hints of spring were in the air. The sun was shining, and the gentle sound of the Josephine Shaw Lowell Memorial Fountain created the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of reading surrounded by the hum of the city yet wrapped in a pocket of tranquility.

Despite the table’s slim surface, our Treker attached securely in seconds, letting us enjoy a perfectly curated reading playlist as we soaked in the spring air. Surrounded by fellow book lovers and daydreamers, it was the perfect blend of city energy and quiet escape.

Research and Reflection at the NYPL

Next on our list was the New York Public Library, the perfect spot to get some research hours in before heading back to the office. The iconic Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, with its grand Beaux-Arts façade, intricate marble details, and the watchful presence of its two stone lions, Patience and Fortitude, stands as a true landmark of the city. Just steps from Bryant Park, it’s not only a hub of knowledge but also a quiet retreat from the city’s bustle.

On our way up to the Salomon Room, a small study space on the third floor, we passed through exhibitions and historic artifacts, each step further immersing us in the library’s rich history. Not only is this flagship building a center for learning and community, but it’s also a museum in its own right, offering regular tours of its stunning internal design while continuing to serve as a working research library.

After viewing the curated collection “A Century of The New Yorker,” we made our way into the study room and set up our materials. We quickly discovered that the long, dark wood tables were too thick for the Treker’s usual grip, giving us the chance to test its balance lying flat on a surface. As expected, the trusted mount held our phone effortlessly, playing a video about our day’s research while we dove into our work.

A Snack Story in K-Town

Before heading back to the office, an afternoon pick-me-up was a must. iOttie HQ isn’t far from 32nd Street, and being only a few blocks away from our Treker travels, we couldn’t resist stopping by a hub for some of our favorite restaurants and cafes.

Despite being only a few blocks long, Koreatown offers an incredible variety of dishes and desserts. Whether you’re craving camera-worthy Korean barbecue, bubble tea, or delicious baked goods, this neighborhood has it all.

Our adventures across midtown led us to something sweet. We walked into Grace Street, a beloved Korean coffeehouse known for its Basque Burnt Cheesecakes and specialty drinks. Each of us ordered a drink and shared a plate of Matcha Beignets, the perfect pairing to end the afternoon.

We made sure to capture the moment with our Treker, proof that any wanderlust explorer can easily snap their sweet treat photos without the hassle of a tripod. The Treker’s portability made it the perfect companion on our last stop of the day.
